I Wonder Why We Went The Way We Did?

A century ago, President Theodore Roosevelt (1858-1919) observed:

"Progress has brought us both unbounded opportunities and unbridled difficulties. Thus, the measure of our civilization will not be that we have done much, but what we have done with that much. I believe that the next half century will determine if we will advance the cause of Christian civilization or revert to the horrors of brutal paganism. The thought of modern industry in the hands of Christian charity is a dream worth dreaming. The thought of industry in the hands of paganism is a nightmare beyond imagining. The choice between the two is upon us." (emphasis mine)

I'm Deep Into Volume Two

What writers often call a "throwaway character," a person who serves an immediate purpose in storytelling, but never reappears, has rebelled.

This young girl appeared near the end of volume one. I thought she had served her purpose, but she told me otherwise. Wow did she tell me otherwise! She refused to be thrown away. I did not know why until I wrote the event in which she reappeared. She ties together the opening scenes across the globe in volume one.

Perhaps God deals with us in a similar manner?

Writing is an act of faith. You have to trust the characters to tell you the story.

Publication Is Getting Close

Eight years from idea to the first book! That's a long time. Will it be available for Christmas?

A contract has been let for original cover art.

The book is in an editor's hands.

First Entry For Armageddon Story

If you've ever wondered what was on the other side of the curtain in the Left Behind series, you've found it.

Armageddon Story, my new end-times novel series, will take you where others fear to tread. Yes, you will see God work in the last days through fallen human beings (for there are no other kind). But you will also see the heavenly efforts to which God goes to spare his own. And with that effort, Armageddon Story becomes a love story.

As the series sweeps over the earth, you will see the two realms, heaven and earth, begin to mingle together, then disengage, then re-engage. Think of it as our weather in the continental United States: The jet stream sometimes touches down on earth at specific points, works its mischief and then returns to its home in the sky.

This is not a "roadmap" of Revelation, nor does it pretend to be. It is unlikely God will approach end-times this way… but what if he did?

Prepare to lift the veil between the seen and the unseen worlds. God is even now, as the age of grace draws to a close, rearranging the chess pieces on the board for the final game. Be there when it happens!
